Hello, my name is Mrs Hunter. Myself and Mrs Crook are the Class 2 teachers. I am also Key Stage One leader and have taught in Reception, Year one and Year Two. I lead geography, history and English at school. I have loved teaching at Bickerstaffe since 2013. It is a pleasure to have taught so many children at our lovely school. My favourite thing about school is teaching our amazing children and seeing them grow into independent, hardworking and resilient young people. When I'm not in school I like to spend time with my little family. We enjoy going on bear hunts, days out to the seaside and baking at home with my girls.
Hello my name is Mrs Crook and I teach in Class two with Mrs Hunter. I have enjoyed teaching children in EYFS of Key Stage One since I qualified in 2007. I came to Bickerstaffe in January 2018 and feel privileged to be part of the Bickerstaffe team. I job share with Mrs Hunter in Class 2, I work Thursday and Fridays and I am currently R.E and PSHE leader for the school.
Whether in KS1 or EYFS, igniting a love for learning for each individual is at the heart of all I do. I enjoy bringing learning to life through role play and being creative whether through art, baking or design technology. Singing and dancing is often a feature of my lessons to help with that 'sticky knowledge.' I actively encourage the children I teach to understand their feelings and learn ways of dealing with them, as I feel this prepares them for the wider world.
When I'm not in school I love spending time with my husband, my little girl Heidi and her pup Lottie!
